The Scanteak CNA project
This project was hosted by CNA and Scanteak. This project aims to show that recycling and reusing of old furniture is possible and is a benefit to the environment. I was fortunate enough to be one of the front runner for this project and to be able to showcase it at the Scanteak Toh Guan furniture showroom.
The start
The start of the project we were given 1 month to plan and draft out our design and idea, during that 1 month I was able to 3d model out my design so I can properly plan out the whole design
The planning
After the design was finalized Scanteak and the residents of Choa Chu Kang provided us with old and unused furniture. From there we began planning out how we would make our product and begin working on it.
The development
From here on out we were on our own, with the occasional help and advise from our lecturers we begun making our products. for this we were given 2 months to fully utilize the workshop and the wood provided
The finishing
After the 2 months we then had to present our works to Scanteak themselves, from there they would select 7 pieces of furniture that they would display and sell at their Toh Guan showroom.
The Showcase
After the final presentation I was selected along with 6 others to showcase our products in the Scanteak Toh Guan showroom.
The interview
During the Scanteak Toh Guan showroom CNA greenplan initiative was there as well to interview us all on our journey as well as CNA live that broadcasted my work Live.
Meeting the residents
I was also given the opportunity to meet with the residents of Choa Chu Kang who provided us with the old furniture and was able to discuss with them on where their furniture was used.

I was also given the huge opportunity to broadcast my work on CNA live and it was then showcased that night on live television
